My Evening Routine

A couple weeks ago I wrote a post about My Morning Routine. Having an evening routine helps to have a productive start to my day. Everything is set up and I know exactly what I need to do when wake up.


This is what I do every night, in no particular order:

  1. Lay out what I'm going to wear the next day. This saves so much time in the morning not having to go through my closet figuring out what to wear.

  2. Prepare my bag or backpack with whatever I need for the day.

  3. Review my agenda. Taking a look at my agenda helps me mentally prepare for any upcoming appointments and sleep peacefully because I know everything has been planned out.

  4. Write out 3 amazing things that happened during the day and how to improve the next day in my 5 Minute Journal App.

  5. Take a shower, put on lotion and a sleep serum on my face.

  6. Wash the dishes and reset the kitchen. It's nice waking up in the morning when all the dishes are clean and put away. All I have to do is grab my green tea and start working.

  7. Stop checking social media and emails after 8:30 p.m. I set a timer on my phone to turn off all my distracting apps off until the next morning.

  8. Play with my cats so they get tired and sleep soon too.

  9. Journal if I didn't do it in the afternoon.

  10. Read to sleep.

  11. If I can't sleep, I'll listen to a Sleep Story or Sleep Meditation in my Calm app.

This night time routine totally helps me sleep peacefully. It also helps me have a productive start to my day because everything is ready to go.
